Feliz Ano Nuevo!

It's been quite a while since we last wrote, and we've been busy! The end of 2008 took us to Ecuador for Kate's job and to see Matt's work wife and partner ( who kicked butt traveling around Ecaudor as a 5 month pregnant lady....), down to Patagonia for an impromptu 80 km to celebrate our marriage, lots of R&R in Chile, back to the US of A for Navidad, office time, and we finally made it to one of our hut trips!

We've been back for four days, and have finally unpacked (less the one bag that has been MIA with LAN Chile since 21 December....), cleaned out all the dust that accumulates when you're gone for weeks, and gotten back to work. We're looking forward to exploring Peru this year and have already planned a surfing trip in the next couple of weeks over a long Peruvian weekend. The goal is to embrace all things Peruvian (those that we want to, anyways), and have started with experimenting with the pisco sour.

The first batch turned out pretty good: 2 parts pisco (liquor from grapes), 1 part lime juice, an egg white, sugar syrup, and angostura bitters. Matt is practicing his skills here....above the mini bananas that remind me of eating mofoakondro in Madagascar 10 years ago.
Happy New Year!
